For Breast Cancer Awareness Month , we chose to support Le Repair Lauragais by making 43 heart-shaped cushions for women affected by breast cancer . These cushions are made exclusively for this charitable initiative, to bring comfort, softness, and solace to those who need it.

Repair Lauragais, a valuable local support
Repair Lauragais is a non-profit association that brings together professionals and volunteers around a common goal: to support people affected by cancer.
It offers a local support point in the Lauragais (31), relaying the major medical establishments in Toulouse, to support, inform and listen to patients and their loved ones throughout their journey.
To date, Le Repair Lauragais has already distributed several heart-shaped cushions:
-
10 at the Castelnaudary hospital
-
10 at CHIVA (Foix)
-
2 to Séverine, taxi driver in Avignonnet-Lauragais
Audrey, vice-president of the association, will oversee the distribution at the La Croix du Sud clinic in early November , and a handover is planned at the Pasteur clinic , with the possibility for Cosy Club to accompany and present the initiative.

What are heart-shaped cushions used for?
These heart-shaped cushions were specially designed to relieve post-operative pain related to breast cancer. Placed under the arm or on the chest, they help alleviate tension while providing a feeling of well-being and comfort.
Unfortunately, some women are not always aware of the existence of these cushions after their surgery. Talking about them helps raise awareness of this simple and comforting solution , so that everyone can benefit from it if they feel the need.

Would you like to make one?
If you are personally affected, or if one of your loved ones is going through this ordeal, you can make your own heart-shaped cushion.
The official pattern, provided by the League Against Cancer , is easy to follow.
You can also entrust them to associations that support people facing breast cancer, or directly to the cancer center near you.

These cushions are not simply textile creations: they are the symbol of a collective and benevolent movement in support of women affected by breast cancer.
Together, let's make Pink October a month of sharing, mutual support and hope.
