Seven years ago, a family trip to southern Finistère changed our lives. Disappointed by the purchase of a U-shaped travel pillow, we invented ISIDOR – the first Cosy Club pillow – on the way home. This creation marked the starting point of an entrepreneurial adventure that would be greatly influenced, for good reason, by the French denim brand 1083 and its founder, Thomas Huriez.
THE DILEMMA OF MADE IN FRANCE
When Muriel and I decided to create a company to manufacture and sell our car cushion, we faced a dilemma: Is it possible to create a committed and sustainable business? For example, is it possible to start manufacturing in France?
Having two children , and well aware of the ecological situation on a planetary scale, we cannot consider low-cost production in distant countries with often unscrupulous practices.
So, we investigate, we ask questions, and we immediately run up against an ideological wall: “If you want to be profitable, you'll have no choice: you'll have to produce abroad.” A flat refusal, indeed…
THE TURNING POINT 1083: PROOF THAT IT'S POSSIBLE
Being a bit stubborn and new to entrepreneurship, we continued our search and turned to inspiring brands . That's when we discovered the French jeans brand 1083 and devoured the book "Re-made en France" by its founder, Thomas Huriez.
That's the turning point! Convinced by the approach, reading this book has given us enough energy and confidence to launch our project! It's living proof that French manufacturing is possible.
All it takes is a change of perspective and a challenge to the traditional model of selling through distributors. The key? Selling directly online.
As luck would have it, website creation was our former profession. So things moved very quickly and a few years were enough to confirm that we had made the right choice.
COLLABORATION BETWEEN ETHICAL BRANDS
Seven years later, the circle is complete, and we are truly delighted with this partnership with 1083 to create a unique, collector's edition SALVADOR . The concept? A neck pillow 100% handcrafted in our workshop in Nailloux (31) from a superb navy blue fabric by 1083 (woven in France by Tissages de Charlieu ). It doesn't get much more French-made than this !
As you've probably gathered, this limited-edition head comfort cushion is much more than just a partnership; it's a collaborative textile creation and a sharing of common values that have bound us from the start: job creation, reindustrialization, and the preservation of the French textile industry . More than just a cushion, it's a manifesto demonstrating that manufacturing in France is possible .
Thank you to Thomas for his generosity and inspiring business.
Thank you for supporting our approach and contributing to the development of French-made brands through your responsible purchases.
